Nothing (that’s right: NOTHING) says “May is here!” quite like the smell of tequila, triple-sec, lime juice and salt coming together to make the masterpiece we know by its adorable name, the Margarita. Okay, maybe Justin Timberlake memes do, but you cannot drink those.
Help our district usher in that fairest of months with Margarita Week, a weeklong celebration of the Battle of Puebla Americans’ favorite Mexican holiday a themed excuse for drinking all things Mexican! A few of the celebrations will take place at restaurants in our area: The marquee Cinco de Mayo celebration will take place at H Street Country Club, 1335 H Street NE, on Friday, May 5, starting at 1 p.m.!
If celebrating on a Friday is not your speed, you can grab drinks and merriment on Wednesday, May 3 at Agua 301, 301 Water Street SE, and enjoy beer and tequila specials like the grown-up you are.
Over in Southwest, you can enjoy the goofy adorableness of the annual Running of the Chihuahuas on Saturday, May 6. Cantina Marina and Rural Dog Rescue will pair up to bring you cold beer, live music and food trucks.
