In case you haven’t noticed, we recently added two new features to The Hill is Home: an event calendar and a business directory!
The event calendar highlights events taking place on Capitol Hill and around Ward 6. Anyone can post an event to the calendar for FREE. Free accounts are limited to posting four events per month, and those events must take place in Ward 6. Why only four events per month? We’ve seen a lot of community calendars get cluttered up with recurring events, which prevented the unique ones from being found. If your organization has a recurring event that you would like highlighted, please contact us at thehillishome@gmail.com to talk about ways we can help you promote it to the community.
We will also occasionally we will post something that is not in Ward 6 if it is hosted by a Hill business, such as the upcoming WashingCon, which is hosted by Labyrinth Puzzles and Games, or Ward 6 Day at the National Building Museum.
We’re also excited about our business directory! If you are a business that is in Ward 6 or that serves Ward 6, this is for you!
There is a small fee to be listed in the directory ($25 for one year), but this gives your business a chance to put more than just your name and address. Add logos, pictures of your space and products, links to your website and social media profiles, and even deals for customers!
