Remember those days in grade school when all of your classmates were your Valentine? Let’s forget the flowers and expensive gifts and focus on tasty sweets and spending time with your favorite people. Because there really are tons of chances for it around this Hill this weekend. Grab your sweetheart or just a dear friend and try a few of these ideas!

CHAW is hosting its Friday night Knit & Sip at 7pm. Enjoy light refreshments, coffee, tea and wine. Bring your own project or purchase a kit from the instructor to learn the basics. All experience levels welcome. $30 per session + $10 starter ball of yarn and knitting needles. To register, call 202.547.6839. If painting is more your style, the Hill Center has Sip & Paint events on Saturday from 4-7pm and on Sunday from 3-6pm.

Or get that heart beating with A #SWEATdateValentine‘s workout with Chris and Alex Perrin at Dock 5. Expect HIIT meets sports conditioning. Think sports practice meets INSANITY. Bring friends, a yoga mat, towel and water.

Or maybe you want to get to the tasty food I was talking about? Righteous Cheese will be holding classes to help you discover and savour seasonal, artisanal cheeses. Explore the world of cheese pairing by tasting 4 cheeses and 4 unique Champagnes along with a bounty of chocolate accompaniments. Fromager Carolyn Stromberg will delve into the story behind each cheese, as well as give advice about selecting, serving, pairing, and more. Tickets are $74/person and can be purchased here. Class requires advance ticket purchase, as seating is limited to 30 attendees.
