Recently, Jen deMayo and I went on a walk down H Street NE and chatted about the Streetcar. At the time (February 8), there was a tentative announcement in the air: the DC Streetcar may be open to the public “on or around February 20th.” With that info, we talked to business owners, workers, and residents, about whether this time DC meant business.

At the end of the podcast –skip to 14:48 if you’d rather hear it first– Jen and I talk about Mayor Muriel Bowser’s announcement that the Streetcar will be inaugurated on Saturday, February 27. If you listen to no other part of the podcast, make sure you get an earful of Jen’s righteous indignation over the social media hashtag that goes with the inauguration event!

Thank you to Mr. Hillman, Jessica from Trinidad, Anthony, Rihanna, Keira, Paul, P.J., and John for their willingness to chat to two rather dorky ladies! Special shoutout to the kind folks at Ben’s Chili Bowl and to Mr. Hillman’s Barber Shop.

And if you didn’t catch Part 1 of this podcast, you can catch up here!
