A Weekend Fall Feast for the Five (or Six)Senses and Favorite Causes!

Thursday, grab a friend and head over to Canal Park at 200 M St.SE at7:30 pm to watch Spaceballs, the fall outer space outdoor movie: Capitol Riverfront BID

On Friday, come back to earth and enjoy a wine tasting at Marvelous Market on 7th Street with the Redwood Classical Guitar Duo from 5 pm-7pm

Looking for some bargains? The Maury Elementary PTA Yard sale kicks off  at 8 am on the triangle at  the 1300 block of A St. and North Carolina NE the fall season, so come out! Find a good deal on toys, TVs and help enhance a local school (yes, mine), but feel free to send news on other Hill school activities! Bake sale items for purchase. Or just drop off donations at the porch at 1718 E St. SE.

Talk about sweets! Stop by the “Sweets for Sweet” bakery stand in front of Tortilla Café to sample wickedly delicious and dangerously mouthwatering sweets on Saturday.Lollipop cupcakes! Oreo cupcakes! M&M cupcakes! Snickers cupcakes!  Chocolate-dipped-M&M-covered rice krispies! Triple-Chocolate Brownies! Bake Sale by Capitol Hill Children of Deaf Parents–proceeds go towards various events designed for young, urban children of Deaf parents who reside on the Hill.

After, go savory, and head over to Oktoberfest at Barracks Row 8th Street between G and I (Eye) Streets! As Maria wrote, “Be there or be a Wiener (Schnitzel).” Festival runs from 11am until 5 pm.

Not enough local color? All weekend there are chances to Get Your Red On: The Nats play this weekend in their last home game series Saturday @ 1:05 pm with a Second Annual Gospel Music Fest post-game concert and Sunday @ 1:35 pm.The Bullpen on Half Street features  pre- and postgame shows with music by Deren ‘Fatskeys Blessman
