The Anacostia River is well on its way to being a remarkable success story for how we interact with our urban rivers, but much remains to be done.

The District Department of the Environment is hosting a series of community meetings highlighting what still needs to be done, as well as what we can do as residents to help the river along. The next will be tonight, June 24 2014, at St. Coletta of Greater Washington, 1901 Independence Avenue SE, just off the Stadium-Armory metro.

The meeting will have an open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 7:00.

Please do not bring disposable water bottles or you will risk the stink-eye of DDOE.
