Hanukkah is here, Christmas is less than two weeks away, my calendar is packed with holiday parties, I have yet to start shopping for gifts, and I have a cold that just refuses to go away.  I have tried to just about every remedy and OTC I can think of, but if you have a magical cure for a head cold, please let me know because I am ready to get back to celebrating the holiday season!  But fear not, no cold will prevent my round up of what other blogs have said about our neighborhood in the last week!

  • Frozen Tropics shared a gem from Google Maps.  Their street view caught a guy literally with his pants down on H Street…and no one walking by him seemed phased whatsoever.
  • We Love DC shared the announcement from H Street Country Club that registration is officially open for their second season of skeeball, which will kick off on January 10.
  • Prince of Petworth posted a round up of things soon to come to H Street, NE.
  • JD Land got the scoop on Justin’s Cafe, the planned “fast casual” restaurant in the ground floor of Velocity on First Street between K Street and L Street, SE.
  • City Paper reported on what it would cost to rent out Eastern Market’s North Hall for events, and the price difference between private and publish events: $5,100 for a wedding.  Pricey or reasonable for the historic space?
  • H Street Great Street reported on a new exhibit that opened this past weekend in Studio H Gallery and Workshop.  The exhibit, “Wonderment, an Exploration of the Indeterminate,” will be on display until January 2.
  • JD Land shared an update on the Canal Park project.  Here’s a shocker: the date for the start of construction has been pushed back again, now to September 2010.
