Oh my today’s weather has perked me up. Summer is fun and all but a few days of relentless face-melting heat takes a toll.
So what are we doing this weekend?
Tonight you can catch Oscar Wilde’s racy take on the bible Salomé. Scena Theatre’s production at the Atlas is getting great reviews so check it out. The show runs through August 18 and tickets are available here.
Friday you need to catch a youngish Alan Alda and Meryl Streep as youngish Senator and Lobbyist in The Seduction of Joe Tynan the next entry in the Hill Center’s Hollywood on the Potomac series. Alda wrote the 1978 film, presumably at the height of his M.A.S.H. induced fame and moral superiority. Meryl Street is without fail fun to watch in anything (witness Mamma Mia) so why not see what she was like as the beginning of her amazing career. The screening begins at 7 and is free but you should register here.
Saturday. Did the killer heat derail your workouts? Get back on track with a new bootcamp at Fitness Together on H Street. The workout goes from 1pm -1:45 and is free for first timers so what have you got to lose besides the love handles? Learn more about the bootcamp here.
Sunday go for a row! If you haven’t checked out the new Ballpark Boathouse head down there and enjoy a day on the water.
