All your leisurely Sundays at brunch have prepared you for this moment: THE CAPITOL HILL BELVEDERE BLOODY MARY BAR CRAWL! No, it’s not exactly a contest to see which bar crawler can down the most Bloody Marys back-to-back without passing out, but, rather, a contest to test which local eatery has the best Belvedere vodka-tomato juice cocktail. The crawl includes seven of the District’s finest, so brace yourself and sip carefully.
Registration starts at 2pm this Saturday, July 9th, at the Ugly Mug. The event continues to 6pm, taking you to Cava, Aqua Del Luna, Zest, Belga Café, Bullfeathers, and Capitol Lounge. Most venues will provide free samples of their Bloody Marys, and all registered drinkers get to vote for their favorite at washingtoncitypaper.com (I say an unnamed bias goes to the free ones).
Thirty-nine Seven versions of the Bloody Mary will be offered across the seven locations for you to choose from, with titles like “Cubed Buffalo Mozzarella” and “Bacon Wrapped Clam/Shrimp/Crazy Feta-Stuffed Olive.” Sounds delicious, intriguing, and a little alarming.
