We’ve had a string of gorgeous weekends lately, so let’s hope Saturday June 25th is no exception, because it’s the 5th Annual Ward 6 Family Day at the Yards Park! Hosted by councilmember Tommy Wells, the fun starts at 1pm and lasts until 5pm, and will include a variety of games, activities and live music. Food will also be provided free of charge.
Be sure to bring your dancing shoes because Zumba and Salsa dancing will be taking place courtesy of the health and fitness group, Samson’s Daughter. The day will also include several raffles featuring prizes from local businesses and sports memorabilia from the Wizards, DC United and the Washington Nationals.
The event is sponsored in part by the Capitol Riverfront Bid, Forest City Development Corporation, DC United, Frager’s, the Nationals, the Wizards, Harris Teeter, Capital Community news and Schneider’s among others.
The Yards Park is located on Water St., SE between 3rd and 4th Streets, SE and one block south of M Street, SE. If you have any questions about the event, you contact Pat Joseph via email or at (202) 724-8628 for more information.
