David Garber ANC 6D07
I moved to 6D07 just four short months ago. Not something you’d typically admit if you’re trying to win an elected office, right? Not in this neighborhood. Near Southeast / Navy Yard / Ballpark District / Capitol Riverfront / _insert neighborhood name here_ is a neighborhood where a newcomer’s perspective is an asset. I moved here knowing what the neighborhood is right now, but also hoping for a certain future for it: more restaurants and retail, a healthy parks system, and new development that people are going to love for a long time.
6D07 is a neighborhood in transition. And there is only so much you can hope for without actually getting involved and helping move those hopes toward reality. That’s why I am running for Advisory Neighborhood Commission.
I’ve lived in Southeast DC for over three years. I’m new to Near Southeast, but I am not alone in thinking that this 6D07 neighborhood has too much potential to let it develop without a conscientious representative asking the right questions, demanding good design and safe streets, and being supportive of quality businesses that want to open and thrive here.

David is the real deal.. Even though he is a recent citizen in near southeast he has been living in Southeast for the last few years. Not sure his candidate can prove either with a home on the potomac in Maryland!
