The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the community’s assistance in locating suspects in an armed robbery in Southeast.
On Monday, January 27, 2025, at approximately 6:19 a.m., the suspects approached the victim, at the intersection of 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The suspects brandished handguns and took property from the victim. The suspects fled the scene in an awaiting vehicle.
The suspects and their vehicle were captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.
MPD Searching for Northeast Armed Robbery Suspect and Vehicle
The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a suspect and a vehicle in an armed robbery that occurred in Northeast, DC.
On Sunday, January 26, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., the suspect approached the victim in the 400 block of 11th Street, Northeast. The suspect then brandished a handgun, took the victim’s property, and fled the scene.

- MPD Investigating Benning Road Homicide
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northeast.
On Saturday, January 25, 2025, at approximately 5:09 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a residential building in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in a hallway suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. After all lifesaving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 24-year-old Thomas Drew Jr., of Bowie, MD.
- MPD Investigating Navy Yard Homicide
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Southeast.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, at approximately 8:36 p.m., First District officers responded to the 900 block of M Street, Southeast, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and after lifesaving measures failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Nico Rector, of Southeast, DC.
- MPD Searching for Pennsylvania Avenue Armed Robbery Suspects
The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in locating suspects in an armed robbery in Southeast.
On Friday, January 17, 2025, at approximately 10:07 p.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was seated in their vehicle, in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the property and then fled the scene.
