  • MPD Investigating East Capitol Street Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating suspects in a shooting that occurred
November 22 .
On Friday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 9:42 a.m., First District officers responded to the 1700 block of East Capitol Street for reports of a shooting. Officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening.
Detectives determined the shooting occurred in an alley behind an apartment complex in the 1700 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast. The shooting victim then ran to Eastern High School for assistance.
The shooting suspects and their vehicle were captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the images above and this video.

  • MPD Seeking Suspect in Southeast Assault

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault in Southeast.
On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the victim reported that they confronted an individual that they believed broke a window on a vehicle in the 1200 block of Half Street, Southeast. The suspect then struck the victim repeatedly in the head, causing them to lose consciousness and fall to the ground. The suspect took the victim’s phone and fled the scene. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above.

  • MPD Searching for Southeast Burglary Suspects

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a burglary of an establishment in Southeast.
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., multiple suspects forcibly entered an establishment in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The suspects stole merchandise from the establishment and fled the scene.
Three of the suspects were captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos above.

  • Suspect Arrested in Southeast Assault

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in an assault in Southeast.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, 29-year-old Craig Hunter of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Screwdriver) and Theft Two.
