  • MPD Arrests Dog Theft Suspect

An arrest has been made in a theft offense involving a dog stolen off a boat in Southeast.
On Friday, October 11th, 2024, at approximately 9:00pm, officers responded to the 100 block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast for reports of a theft. Once on scene, officers discovered that a boat had been broken into and a dog was taken.
Following the theft, MPD published images of “Pepper” a 3-month-old black Cane Corso. On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, a good Samaritan returned Pepper to his owner after purchasing the dog from an online ad prior to discovering the dog was stolen. Pepper is in good condition.
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, at approximately 4:30pm, as the result of a detective’s investigation, 18-year-old Dante Eley of Southeast was arrested and charged with Theft in The Second Degree and Destruction of Property.

  • MPD Investigating Southeast Carjacking

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects and a vehicle in a carjacking in Southeast.
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:23 p.m., the suspects approached the victim inside of a parking garage in the 400 block of 14th Street, Southeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s car keys. The victim complied. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s car, which was followed by a second vehicle.
The suspects and the suspect vehicle, a white 2019 Audi Q7 with Virginia tag# 2687EB, were captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos above.

  • MPD Searching for Navy Yard Robbery Suspects

The Metropolitan Police Department is searching for multiple suspects involved two robberies that occurred in the Navy Yard area.
On Saturday, October 26, 2024, at approximately 10:19 p.m., the victim reported that multiple suspects assaulted him and took his property in the Unit block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast. DC Fire and EMS provided treatment on the scene.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., the suspects approached a second victim walking along the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail near the 100 block of O Street, Southeast. The victim also reported being assaulted, and having his property taken before the suspects fled the scene. The second victim was not injured during the incident.
Two of the suspects were captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos above.

  • MPD Searching for Armed Robbery Vehicle

The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the community’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in an armed robbery (gun) in Southeast.
On Saturday, October 26, 2024, at approximately 11:10 p.m., the suspects exited a vehicle and approached the victims in the Unit block of N Street, Southeast. The suspects brandished handguns and demanded property from the victims. The suspects then assaulted the victims, took property from one of the victims, and fled the scene in the vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photo above.
