- Arrest Made in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offense: 1200 Block of Wylie Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 21, 2021, in the 1200 block of Wylie Street, Northeast.
At approximately 12:19 am, four suspects approached the victim at the listed location. Two of the suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
On Sunday, March 20, 2022, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, an 18 year-old male, of District Heights, Maryland, who was 17 years old at the time of the offense, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
- Traffic Fatality: Intersection of New York and New Jersey Avenues, Northwest
Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating a traffic fatality resulting from a traffic crash that occurred on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the intersection of New York and New Jersey Avenues, Northwest.
Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 8:22 pm, a dark colored SUV was travelling northbound on New Jersey Avenue, Northwest. At the same time, a pedestrian was walking northbound in the roadway, when they were struck by the dark colored SUV. The pedestrian was then struck a second time by a dark colored sedan that was traveling northbound on New Jersey Avenue, Northwest. The operator of the dark colored SUV and the dark colored sedan both fled the scene after they struck the pedestrian without making their identities known. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 52 year-old Joseph Robinson, of no fixed address.

- Arrest Made in a Carjacking Offense: 100 Block of Tennessee Avenue, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Carjacking offense that occurred on Sunday, February 20, 2022, in the 100 block of Tennessee Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 8:31 pm, the suspects approached the victim, who was in their vehicle, at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.
On Friday, March 18, 2022, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Carjacking.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announce arrests have been made in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, February 25, 2022, in the 700 block of D Street, Southeast.
At approximately 9:20 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. Two of the suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
On Thursday, March 10, 2022, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
On Friday, March 18, 2022, pursuant to DC Superior Court custody orders, two 14 year-old juvenile males, both of Northeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).
- Homicide: 1500 Block of Isherwood Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, March 25, 2022, in the 1500 block of Isherwood Street, Northeast.
At approximately 2:34 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, the members located a juvenile male victim, inside of a residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 16 year-old Khalil Rich, of Northeast, DC.
