- Arrest Made in a Robbery (Force and Violence) Offense: 800 Block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the 800 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 7:38 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene. A short time later, the suspect was apprehended by U.S. Capitol Police Officers.
On Sunday, February 6, 2022, 23 year-old Randy Moore, of Alexandria, Virginia was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).

- Suspect Sought in an Armed Robbery of an Establishment (Gun) Offense: 600 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Monday, February 7, 2022, in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 11:37 am, the suspect entered an establishment at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from an employee. The employee complied and the suspect fled the scene.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos at right and below.

- Suspect Sought in an Armed Kidnapping and Armed Carjacking (Knife) Offense: 700 Block of 4th Street, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to an Armed Kidnapping and Armed Carjacking (Knife) offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, in the 700 block of 4th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 5:59 pm, the suspect approached the victim, who was the passenger in a parked vehicle, at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded the victim to get out of the vehicle. The victim refused. The suspect entered the vehicle and began to drive away with the victim and a child inside. A short time later, the victim and the child were able to escape from the vehicle. The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.

- Armed Carjacking – 13th and Pennsylvania Ave SE
The First District is currently investigating an armed carjacking that occurred on 2/5/22 at approximately 7:30pm. The victim reported he was approached by two armed suspects who demanded his vehicle. The victim complied and both suspects entered his vehicle and fled. The suspects were described as two Black Males, wearing all dark clothing and armed with firearms. They were last seen fleeing in the victims vehicle, a White Toyota Camry with New Jersey tags, followed by a black Mercedes Sedan.
- Armed Carjacking (Attempt) – 900 Block of 4th St SE
The First District is investigating an attempted armed carjacking that occurred this evening at approximately 6:50pm in the 900 block of 4th St SE. The victim reported that while retrieving a dog from inside their vehicle, a suspect approached from behind and spun them around. The suspect showed a firearm and demanded the keys. A second suspect stood by. The victim yelled causing both suspects to flee without obtaining any property. No injuries were reported.
The suspects were described as:
S-1: Black Male, 17-25 years of age, wearing a grey jacket, grey pants and dark shoes.
S-2: Black Male, 17-25 years of age, wearing a olive puffy jacket, red hoodie and light pants. One suspect was armed with a handgun. Both suspects were last seen fleeing southbound on 4th St SE.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in reference to a Misdemeanor Sexual Abuse offense that occurred on Thursday, February 10, 2022, in the 900 block of 3rd Street, Northeast.
At approximately 8:57 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect engaged in unwanted sexual contact with the victim then fled the scene.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, February 11, 2022, in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast.
At approximately 5:24 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Friday, February 11, 2022, 33 year-old Richard Jones, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
