The To Do List: Week of September 23, 2021

Happy almost weekend! You survived last weekend! You survived apocalyptic rains this morning! Well done! What can we do this weekend to forget all the woes?

Tonight, how about something fun, silly and very online? Wrong Answers Only with LabX is a fun online game show hosted by the National Academy of Sciences and it happens tonight at 8:30 p.m. Giggle, laugh and learn about bonobos with primatologist Amy Parish. More info and tickets here.

Let’s continue with Art All Night— which should really be Art Both Nights, as it runs from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday, September 24, and from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, September 25. This year, the District is going all-out and bringing the fun to more locations than ever before. In our area, you can catch the Montreal-inspired mix of arts, culture and staying up late on Eastern Market Main Street and H Street Main Street. See you there!

The DC Bike Ride is THIS Saturday, September 25 starting at 8 a.m.! You can register here for the 20-mile ride around all the beautiful sights the city has to offer. Tickets start at $67. Check out the route map here.

Happy Oktoberfest! The Bavarian tradition of beers, merriment and ooompah continues at Wunder Garden, with food by our friends at Café Berlin. Prost!

Tomorrow, the Live on the Hill series wraps up. The peppy, happy local concerts at Eastern Market Metro Park will continue to delight on Fridays at 5 and Saturdays at 10 a.m., weather permitting.
Friday, 9/24 – Herb Scott
Saturday, 9/25 – Marsha and the Positrons

Need more live music? Check out DC Music Live’s bimonthly Set List column, which features reviews, photos and commentary on the local scene! The app helps you explore all the venues around the area offering LIVE MUSIC! Download it here for iPhone and here for Android!

Crazy Aunt Helen’s is starting their happy hour just in time for cozier weather. From 4-7 p.m, Monday-Friday, enjoy delicious bites like loaded fries and boiled peanuts at the bar. The art of Maurice James, Jr. will be hanging inside the restaurant through December 6.

Just a reminder: If you’re single, get out there! Apparently, DC is the best city for singles, according to research from Apartment List and Bumble— and they assert that almost half the city is single. Honestly, from this perspective it looks like everyone else is happily married, but sure, friends: Let’s valiantly be single, together.

PLAN AHEAD:
