I love the week before holiday weekends. Half of the office has already left for vacation, I’m busy enough that time flies by, and I have a long relaxing weekend to look forward too. Just a few days to get through, and a few projects to finish up and it’ll be time for BBQs, pools, parades and fireworks. Keep an eye out for our To Do List on Thursday — it will be packed with some great stuff to keep you well entertained if you are staying in town for the Fourth of July. Until then, I have a lot of great links to get you through your morning.
- Urban Turf featured the old bank on East Capitol Street that was converted into a house. They still use the deposit box as a mailbox, which understandably leaves new mailmen a bit confused. Either way, this is one of my favorite renovations on the Hill.
- We Love DC gave the history of “Capitalsaurus Court” at 1st and F SE and DC’s official dinosaur.
- Prince of Petworth has the real estate listing for one of the now-renovated vacant homes that Robert profiled in March.
- Tom Sietsema reviewed Ethiopic, making it an “Editor’s Pick.”
- Roll Call called Barracks Row “Foodie Heaven.”
- Brightest Young Things highlighted all of the awesomeness that H Street has to offer.
- Kerry Feehery, chief of staff to Sen. George LeMieu, took Politico on a tour on her Capitol Hill home and Eastern Market.
- Housing Complex and Greater Greater Washington shared the following video from a group seeking to save the Virginia Avenue Garden from the Marine’s expansion plans.

that brightest young things article barely mentioned anything on h street. pretty disappointing.
I agree IMGoph! It’s as if they stopped by H Street last year and just now posted the article. There is so much more on the street, but they seem to mention the obvious options.
Of course, according to one commenter, H Street is already uncool. So maybe the so-last-year post is actually appropriate.
