Celebrate National Rum Day at Tiki TNT on The Wharf

If you are like me, you are dreading the end of summer but maaayyybe you are a little intrigued by the notion of wearing socks again? Just me? I’m okay with that.

If you are here in town, here are some ideas of how to get down with your summer-self.

Tonight is another Third Thursday at Eastern Market. From 4 to 8 p.m. you can play games at Labyrinth, sip wine at Groovy, and go to the grand opening of EAT BRGZ. This month, the DC Department of Energy and the Environment  hosts a Fix-it Clinic where you can learn to fix bikes, clothing and jewelry.

Friday is National Rum Day. Todd Thrasher’s Tiki TNT at the Wharf will mark the day with a special menu as well as complimentary tastings of Thrasher’s Rum.

Create your own signature scent at Steadfast Supply. Participants will learn the basics of plant-based perfumery and will leave with a bottle of their very own personalized concoction. The workshop is $85 and you can register here.

Saturday, you can watch the Nationals play the Brewers and then follow it up with some live music at Willie’s Brew and Que.

Sunday morning at 10 a.m., do some free outdoor yoga with teachers from Total Source Fitness near Union Market. BYO mat or rent one for $2. Total Source is located at
1271 5th St. NE .

If you live or work in Southwest, get to know some neighbors at the Southwest Sunday Suppers sponsored by the SW BID. Each Sunday dinner is supplied by a different restaurant and features some sort of art or entertainment. This week dinner is provided by Station Four and features the Musical Chairs Art Workshop by Robin Ha Art and Violet Red Studio. Learn more or sign up here.
