It’s March! It’s spooky out but GUESS WHAT? It seems the Potomac is bouncing back and is a lot less crappy (pun intended). I still wouldn’t swim in it ––take note, Lorde–– but hey! It’s better! According to The Hill, the recreational advisory was lifted earlier this week, but you still need a permit to swim (???). E. coli testing has revealed that the numbers of the bacteria found in feces have gone down to normal levels. Environmental restoration and repairs are underway, per DC Water on March 2, and the Army Corps of Engineers is looking toward the future and toward tackling future emergencies before they become cataclysmic events and we run out of drinking water. WTOP

Yesterday, CM Robert White introduced the Full Accountability in Arrest Reporting Act (FAAR Act), to demand transparency in Federal arrests. You can watch a brief video of him explaining the bill on his Instagram as well as Free DC’s Instagram.

We won’t be saying this often but HUZZAH! Go ahead and file your DC taxes with joy in your heart (?). The DC Chief Financial Officer, Glenn Lee, has taken a clear stand asserting that DC will follow their local laws and not abide by the Federal impositions from the One Big Beautiful Bill for this tax season and encouraged folks to go ahead and file by April 15.
