- MPD Investigating Southeast Homicide
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in Southeast.
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, at approximately 2:56 p.m., First District officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of C Street, Southeast. Upon arrival officers located a juvenile male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where after all lifesaving efforts failed, the decedent was pronounced dead
The decedent has been identified as 17-year-old Tristan Johnson, of Southeast.
- MPD Makes Arrest in Northeast Robberies
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a teenager who committed multiple robberies on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Northeast.
Robbery (Snatch): At approximately 7:47 p.m. shortly after purchasing groceries the victim was riding their bike in the 200 block of M Street, Northeast. As the victim rode home, they were approached by a group of juveniles. One of the juveniles threw a bike into the path of the victim. Two of the juveniles attempted to take the victim’s bike but took some of their groceries instead. The suspects fled the scene.
Robbery (Force and Violence): At approximately 8:06 p.m., the victim was riding a scooter on the Metropolitan Branch trail near the 1300 block of 2nd Street, Northeast. The victim was riding by a group of juveniles. One of the juveniles grabbed the victim’s bookbag which forced them to stop. The suspect took the scooter and abandoned it when they saw a MPD mountain bike officer riding in their direction. Before fleeing the suspect took the victim’s cellphone that was mounted on the scooter.
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court pre-petition custody order a 12-year-old juvenile female of Northwest, D.C., was arrested and charged with the above robberies.
- MPD Arrests Juvenile for Carjackings and Robbery
The Metropolitan Police Department announces an arrest of a juvenile suspect involved in six carjackings and an armed robbery in the District.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 17-year-old Andre Whitfield, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged as an adult under Title 16 for the below offenses:

-Armed Carjacking (Gun): Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 2:11 a.m., in the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 25085452
-Armed Carjacking (Gun): Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., in the 200 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 25087025
-Armed Robbery (Gun): Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., in the 5500 block of Central Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 25087603
-Armed Carjacking (Gun): Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at approximately 8:16 p.m., in the 1300 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast. CCN: 25087597
-Armed Carjacking (Gun): Thursday, June 12, 2025, at approximately 7:51 p.m., at 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 25087671
-Unarmed Carjacking: Thursday, June 12, 2025, at approximately 2:25 a.m. in the 400 block of 10th Street, Southeast. CCN: 25087668
At the time of arrest, a weapon was recovered, and Whitfield was additionally charged with Prohibited Possession of Certain Dangerous Weapons (Machine Gun), Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.
This case is under investigation by MPD’s Carjacking Taskforce, which comprises MPD detectives and agents of the FBI Washington Field Office. Multiple suspects remain outstanding.
