The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects and a vehicle involved in business burglaries in the First and Fifth Districts.
In the below offenses, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the suspects forcibly entered multiple businesses, took property, and then fled the scene in a red SUV with tinted windows, no front tag, and black wheels.

- MPD Arrests Suspect in Northeast Stabbing
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a woman in an assault with a dangerous weapon that occurred in Northeast.
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, at approximately 4:41 a.m., First District officers responded to the 300 block of Maryland Avenue, Northeast, for a report of a stabbing. The suspect brandished a knife, stabbed an adult female, before fleeing the scene. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of detectives’ investigation, 27-year-old Devyn Cyphers of Alexandria, VA, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
