  • Two Suspects Arrested in an Armed Kidnapping

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force, in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Washington Field Office, announce two arrests have been made in an armed kidnapping that occurred in Northeast.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 4:28 a.m., the victim was approached by two suspects in the 200 block of K Street, Northeast. The suspects assaulted and forced the victim into a vehicle. The suspects then drove the victim to multiple ATMs, demanding the victim withdraw cash. After taking the victims’ property, the suspects released the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
On Friday, July 11, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 32-year-old Damon Middleton, of Southwest, DC and 27-year-old Michael Alston of Southeast, DC were arrested and charged with Armed Kidnapping.

  • MPD Seeking Suspects in Southeast Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in an unlawful discharge of a firearm offense in Southeast.
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at approximately 1:36 a.m., First District officers responded to the 1200 block of G Street, Southeast for reports of sounds of gunshots. Officers located evidence of gunfire. No one was injured in the offense.
The suspects were captured by surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos above.

  • MPD Searching for Suspects in H Street Burglaries

The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating multiple suspects involved in burglaries that occurred at a liquor store in the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast.
On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 5:10 a.m., three suspects forced entry into a liquor store located in the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast. The suspects stole alcoholic beverages before fleeing the scene. CCN: 25102080

On Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 5:50 a.m., a suspect broke a glass door and entered a liquor store located 1300 block of H Street, Northeast. The suspect stole alcoholic beverages before fleeing the scene. CCN: 25103675

  • MPD Makes Arrest in 2024 Carjackings

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in two carjackings that occurred in 2024 in Northeast.
On April 12, 2024, at 8:50 p.m., First District officers responded to the report of an armed carjacking in the 600 block of 9th Street, Northeast. The suspects were passengers in the victim’s rideshare vehicle when one of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was recovered the same day. CCN: 24055066
On April 13, 2024, at approximately 9:06 p.m., Sixth District officers responded for the report of an armed carjacking in the 100 block of 33rd Street, Northeast. The suspects were passengers in the victim’s rideshare vehicle when one of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The victim was able to flee the scene in his vehicle. CCN: 24055646
On Monday, July 14, 2025, an 18-year-old male of Southeast, DC, was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order. The man was a juvenile at the time of both offenses. As a result of the detectives’ investigation, the man was charged with two counts of Armed Carjacking (gun).
