A pink explosion on our #thehillishome feed on Instagram, courtesy of @saturdaysindc.

Hey there! Apologies for the lack of consistency with the buzz but frankly I have no idea if this is a useful thing. If you like the buzz, drop me a line at info@thehillishome.com and sometime in the next year I will probably get to your message and issue you a thank you (or a duly noted if you don’t like the Buzz). On with the show!

Lobby Bar will be opening this spring in the space where Boxcar Tavern used to be, on 7th Street SE and next door to Tunnicliff’s Tavern. From the press release, “Thoughtfully designed, Lobby Bar will be where elegance meets fun. The reimagined space will include 18 bar seats, cozy booths, a communal table for larger parties, and patio seating for dining alfresco….Their innovative menu will showcase elevated American favorites with a modern twist, while the bar program leans into both classic and creative cocktails, proving that the best connections happen over a well-made drink.”

The DC Council voted 10-2 to be just a little more secretive. While the rationale that public meetings have become more contentious is valid, we really dislike the push for less transparency between councilmembers’ meetings. Tom Sherwood on BlueSky

United States Senator and neighbor Cory Booker did an incredible thing this week. Read neighbor Petula Dvorak’s take on his historic speech and the record it broke. WaPo

In case you missed it, I wrote an April Fool and I think it came out pretty good. THIH
