- MPD Makes Arrest in Northeast Robberies
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in two robberies in Northeast.
On Monday, November 14, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road, Northeast. Upon arrival it was reported that the suspect physically attacked the victims, stole property, then fled the scene. CCN 24119563
On Friday, January 24, 2025, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 1900 block of 3rd Street, Northeast. Upon arrival it was reported that the suspect brandished a firearm, demanded property and the victim complied. The suspect then fled the scene with the victim’s property. CCN 25011522
As a result of the detective’s investigation, 28-year-old Tayon Pratt, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery.
- MPD Arrests Suspect in 2023 Armed Carjacking
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect in a 2023 armed carjacking that occurred in Southeast.
On Saturday, June 17, 2023, at approximately 11:36 p.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was seated in their vehicle, in the 100 block of K Street, Southeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s vehicle. As the victim exited the vehicle, the suspects assaulted the victim and fled in the vehicle. The victim’s vehicle has been recovered.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, an 18-year-old male, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun). The suspect was a juvenile at the time of the offense.

- MPD Searching for Suspects in Navy Yard Armed Carjacking
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects in an armed carjacking that occurred in the Navy Yard area.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at approximately 3:29 p.m., the suspects approached the first victim, who was exiting their vehicle in the 400 block of K Street, Southeast. As the suspects demanded the victim’s car keys, the victim attempted to flag down a passing car and the suspects fled without obtaining property.
The suspects approached a second victim, who was standing at their vehicle at the intersection of 3rd Street and K Street, Southeast. One of the suspects demanded the victim’s car keys and showed a handgun in their waistband. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

- MPD’s Helicopter Tracks Carjacked Vehicle, Two Suspects Arrested
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects in armed carjackings that occurred in the District.
– Attempted Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at approximately 11:54 p.m., the suspects approached the victim, who was seated in their vehicle, in the 900 block of 7th Street, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The suspect then took the victim’s property and attempted to take the vehicle but was unsuccessful. The suspects fled the scene.
– Armed Carjacking (Gun): On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at approximately 4:53 a.m., the suspects approached the victim, who had exited their vehicle, in the 3900 block of Fort Lincoln Drive, Northeast. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s property and fled in the victim’s vehicle.
A short time later, MPD’s Helicopter, Falcon 1, began tracking the carjacked vehicle and observed the vehicle stop near 16th Street and Galen Street, Southeast. Falcon coordinated with members of MPD’s Robbery Suppression Unit on the ground. Both suspects were arrested without incident. The carjacked vehicle and property obtained in the attempted armed carjacking was recovered. A handgun was also recovered.
As a result of the detectives’ investigation, 18-year-old Jamari Robinson, of Southeast, D.C., and a 16-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, D.C., were charged with two counts of Armed Carjacking (Gun).

- MPD Searching for Suspects in Defacing Private Property Offenses
The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in defacing private property (hate/bias) offenses involving Teslas in the District.
In the below offenses, the suspects wrote political hate speech on to the victims’ Tesla vehicles then fled the scene.
– On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at approximately 2:29 p.m., in the 200 block of K Street, Northeast.
– On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at approximately 6:15 p.m., in the 3600 block of 11th Street, Northwest.

– On Saturday, March 8, 2025, at approximately 8:05 a.m., and on Friday, March 14, 2025, between 12:00 a.m. and 8:06 a.m., in the 600- 700 blocks of F Street, Northeast.
– On Sunday, March 9, 2025, at approximately 3:48 p.m., and on Monday, March 10, 2025, at approximately 3:48 p.m., in the 800 block of F Street, Northeast.
– On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at approximately 12:35 p.m., in the 600 block of G Street, Northeast.
Update: On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 49-year-old Justin Fisher of Northeast, turned himself in at an MPD District Station and was charged with eight counts of Defacing Public or Private Property.
On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, 50-year-old Emily Fisher of Northeast, turned herself in at an MPD District Station and was charged with five counts of Defacing Public or Private Property.
- MPD Investigations Leads to Recovery of Synthetic Marijuana, Three Weapons

The Metropolitan Police Department announces the recovery of three firearms and a large quantity of synthetic marijuana, and the arrest of a suspect after an investigation in the First District.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 1, 2025, members of the First District’s Special Missions Unit investigated the manufacturing of Synthetic Cannabinoids in the 1300 block of E Street, Southeast. Investigators located a suspect loading a storage tub into a vehicle outside of a residence. The suspect was stopped and placed under arrest without incident and a brown leafy substance was observed inside of the storage tub.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in that block. 214 pounds of suspected synthetic marijuana was recovered, along with an AK-47 style pistol and two handguns. Additional items used in the manufacturing of drugs were observed and recovered.
28-year-old Tyrone Phillips, of Southeast, was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Counterfeit Tags.
The First District Special Missions Unit continues to investigate this case and is working to identify any outstanding suspects.
