- MPD Releases Video in Union Station Homicide Investigation

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying an individual who shot a man and killed him inside of the parking garage of Union Station.
On Monday, February 10, 2025, at approximately 4:37 p.m., First District officers and several law enforcement partners responded to Union Station, located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast, after Amtrak Police heard gunshots near the bus waiting area. Officers located a male victim not conscious and not breathing, near the escalators to the parking garage, and immediately began rendering lifesaving efforts until DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives from MPD’s Homicide Branch obtained a security camera video that shows the suspect and the decedent briefly interacting with each other before the suspect produced a firearm and shot at the decedent as he ran away.
The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Wayne McDaniel, of Northwest, D.C.
The suspect was captured by a surveillance camera and can be seen in the photos above and this video.

- Second Arrest Made in East Capitol Street Shooting
The Metropolitan Police Department announces an additional arrest has been made in a shooting that occurred in Southeast.
On Friday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 9:42 a.m., First District officers responded to the 1700 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast, for reports of a shooting. Officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening.
Detectives determined the shooting occurred in an alley behind an apartment complex in the 1700 block of East Capitol Street, Southeast. The shooting victim then ran to Eastern High School for assistance.
Previously on Friday, January 17, 2025, as a result of the detective’s investigation and pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court Custody Order for Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (Gun), a 17-year-old male was arrested in Prince George’s County by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
On Friday, March 7, 2025, a 15-year-old juvenile male was arrested in Prince George’s County pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, he was extradited to D.C., where he was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).

- MPD Arrests Suspect in Unarmed Carjacking in Northeast
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in the carjacking of a moped in Northeast.
On Monday, December 30, 2024, at approximately 4:48 p.m., the victim reported that he was approached by a suspect while riding his moped in the 1600 block of Benning Road, Northeast. The suspect attacked the victim then fled the scene on the victim’s moped. The moped has been recovered.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, 22-year-old Derrick Curtis of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Carjacking.
- MPD Makes Arrest in a 2024 Northeast Robbery
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a man who forcibly took a man’s coat in Northeast.
On Monday, December 2, 2024, the victim was walking in the 700 block of E Street, Northeast when a car approached them. Two suspects exited the vehicle, assaulted the victim, and took their coat and property. The suspects fled the scene in the awaiting vehicle.
On Monday, March 17, 2025, 19-year-old Damarco Jackson of Southeast, D.C. was arrested and charged with Robbery (Force & Violence).
- MPD Arrests Suspect in Southeast Gun Offense
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in an assault with a dangerous weapon (gun) offense in Southeast.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the suspect approached the victims in the 1900 block of C Street, Southeast. The suspect brandished a handgun, pointed it at the victims, and then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, 53-year-old India Milam, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
- MPD Arrests Southeast Burglary Suspects
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of two suspects involved in a burglary of an establishment in Southeast.
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., multiple suspects forcibly entered an establishment in the 1200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. The suspects stole merchandise from the establishment and fled the scene.
As a result of the detective’s investigation, on Saturday March 22, 2025, a second arrest was made. Pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 17-year-old juvenile male of Silver Spring, MD, was arrested and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree
Previously, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, a 17-year-old juvenile female of Southeast, DC, was arrested. Pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, the juvenile is charged with Burglary in the Second Degree
- MPD Arrests Northeast Assault Suspect
The Metropolitan Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in an assault with a dangerous weapon (wrench) offense.
On Friday, March 14, 2025, at approximately 12:57 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to the Unit block of N Street, Northeast, for a report of an assault. Upon arrival it was reported that during the exchange of information after a motor vehicle collision, the suspect assaulted the victim with a wrench before fleeing the scene. The victim was treated on scene by DC Fire and EMS of non-life-threatening injuries.
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, as a result of the detective’s investigation, 28-year-old Christopher Brantley, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (Wrench) and Leaving After Colliding Personal Injury.
- MPD Makes Two Arrests in 2023 Nightclub Homicide
The Metropolitan Police Department announces two arrests in a fatal shooting that occurred at a nightclub in 2023.
On Saturday, September 23, 2023, at approximately 11:51 p.m., First District officers responded to the report of a shooting at an establishment in the 1300 block of H Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, officers located three men and one woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victims to local hospitals, where after all lifesaving measures failed, an adult male was pronounced dead. The other three victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The decedent was identified as 31-year-old Blake Bozeman, of Southeast, DC.
On Friday March 11, 2025, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Taskforce located and arrested 44-year-old Cotey Wynn, of Northeast, and 41-year-old Antwan Shelton, of Southeast. Both suspects were charged with First Degree Murder While Armed pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.
