- Suspects Sought in a Robbery (Snatch) Offense: 700 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in locating two suspects in reference to a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023, in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 8:40 am, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects snatched property from the victim then fled the scene.

- Traffic Fatality: 11th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Unit are investigating a traffic fatality that occurred on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the intersection of 11th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 12:24 a.m., a 2005 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on 11th Street, Southeast and entered the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue with a green signal light. At the same time, a 2017 Mercedes C300 was traveling eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue and entered the intersection of 11th Street, Southeast with a red signal light. The Mercedes struck the driver’s side of the Ford, causing an adult female rear seat passenger on the driver’s side of the Ford to be ejected from the vehicle. The two occupants of the Mercedes fled the scene on foot. The DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the adult female victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The two other occupants in the Ford were treated for minor injuries and released from area hospitals.
The decedent has been identified as 19-year-old Madison Jones, of Northwest, DC.
- Arrest Made in a Homicide: Unit Block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announce an arrest has been made in reference to a homicide that occurred on Monday, May 29, 2023, inside of a residence, in the Unit Block of Potomac Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 2:55 pm, First District officers and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel discovered an unresponsive adult female stabbing victim, inside of a residence, at the listed location. DC Fire and EMS found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedent has been identified as 52-year-old Regina Morris of Southeast, DC.
On Thursday, June 8, 2023, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 66-year-old Reginald Jones, of Southeast, DC was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed. The detectives’ investigation revealed this offense was domestic in nature.
- Suspect Sought in an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) Offense: 1400 Block of H Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to an Assault with Intent to Kill (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in the 1400 block of H Street, Northeast.
At approximately 12:35 pm, First District officers responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male shooting victim, inside of an establishment. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in reference to a Burglary Two offense that occurred on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northwest.
At approximately 4:25 am, the suspects forcibly entered an establishment at the listed location. Once inside, the suspects took property then fled the scene.

At approximately 4:50 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

At approximately 7:24 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and took the victim’s property. The suspect fled the scene.
