The Set List with DC Music Live: September 29-October 12, 2021
It’s another show-filled Set List, and we’re welcoming a new venue to our listings! The newly improved Franklin Park will be kicking off their free music series this Saturday from 4-10 p.m. and will continue shows every Saturday through October.
Union Stage has always been part of the Wharf’s holy trinity of music venues that we hadn’t ventured to until last weekend. So when we checked the app for shows after walking around the Wharf post-Surfside, we decided to take the opportunity to see this new-old venue as well as this “new” band. We hadn’t heard of Crash Boom Bang before, but were immediately surrounded by their devoted fans, friends, and family. The night was special–they hadn’t performed for almost a decade and came together when drummer Mauricio requested they all put a show on together in lieu of throwing him a bachelor party. We didn’t feel like party crashers for long because the whole audience was invited. Mauricio’s fiance was performing bass on the stage, young children were present towards the front of the crowd, and soon enough, we all got involved in call and response melodies. The music was a mix of cover songs and accessible 90s style jams with glow stick necklaces to match. It was plenty of fun! We’ll be back, Union Stage!

About the Set List
The Set List is written by the team behind DC Music Live, a mobile app where you can find aggregated music shows happening near you by neighborhood, venue, or metro line. We’re partnering with The Hill Is Home to provide upcoming shows on and off the Hill, show reviews, and more.
Supporting and promoting the venues and artists that bring us live music in our beloved city has become of great importance, especially as we emerge from the pandemic. If you attend a show, take a picture and give us a shout! #DCMusicLive
