Welcome to the second edition of The Set List! My name is NG (Naomi-Grace) Panlaqui. Together with Nameer Rizvi, we are the Hill East-based developer-couple behind DC Music Live, a mobile app that aggregates live and virtual music events in DC. (Scroll below to learn more!)
We’ve teamed up with The Hill Is Home to write this new recurring feature because of our love for our beautiful neighborhood and it’s vibrant live music scene. Every other Wednesday, expect a list of upcoming shows on and off the Hill, reviews of past shows, and more. Without further ado,
The Rock Creek Kings celebrated DC’s official venue opening weekend with a three hour filled-to-capacity show at Pearl Street Warehouse on the Wharf. For many of the attendees in the standing-room-only crowd, the show was their first indoor concert in over a year, and so the resulting energy was palpable. It was a raucous evening of rock and roll harmonies between saxophone and guitar solos. You can catch the Rock Creek Kings on Saturday 26th in Rose Park, Georgetown from 7 to 9pm. Details on their instagram @rockcreekkings.
A steady diet of great music awaits you at Mr Henry’s after their grand reopening for live music on the 10th.
SOUTHWEST WATERFRONT (WHARF)
Free reggae at the Wharf? Yes, please!
OFF THE HILL
The Set List is written by NG (Naomi-Grace) Panlaqui, one half of the developer couple behind DC Music Live, where you can find aggregated music shows happening near you by neighborhood, venue, or metro line. We’re partnering with The Hill Is Home to provide upcoming shows on and off the Hill, show reviews, and more.
Supporting and promoting the venues and artists that bring us live music in our beloved city has become of great importance, especially as we emerge from the pandemic. If you attend a show, take a picture and give us a shout! #DCMusicLive
