- February 24, 2021: Suspect Sought in an Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offense: 1000 Block of Half Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force seek the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in reference to an Armed Carjacking (Gun) offense that occurred on Friday, February 12, 2021, in the 1000 block of Half Street, Southeast.
At approximately 6:41 pm, the suspect approached the victim, who was sitting in a vehicle, at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun as the suspect attempted to open the vehicle’s door. The victim fled from the scene on foot and the suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle.
The suspect was captured by a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the photo below and in this video.
- February 23, 2021: Arrest Made in an Armed Robbery (Gun) and an Attempt to Commit Robbery Offense in the First District
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announced an arrest has been made in an Armed Robbery (Gun) and an Attempt to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Sunday, February 21, 2021, in the First District.
Attempt to Commit Robbery: At approximately 7:25 am, in the 400 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects demanded property from the victim. The suspects failed to take property from the victim and fled the scene. CCN: 21-022-822
Armed Robbery (Gun): At approximately 7:32 am, in the 1200 block of E Street, Northeast, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property from the victim. The suspects took property from the victim and fled the scene. CCN: 21-022-828
On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 15 year-old juvenile female, of Southwest, DC, was arrested and charged with Robbery. Additionally, she has been charged with Attempt to Commit Robbery in connection with the offense that occurred in the 400 block of Independence Avenue, Southeast.
- February 23, 2021: Arrest Made in an Unarmed Carjacking Offense: 1100 Block of First Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announced an arrest has been made in an Unarmed Carjacking offense that occurred on Saturday, February 20, 2021, in the 1100 block of First Street, Southeast.
At approximately 11:36 pm, one of the suspects entered the victim’s running vehicle at the listed location. The victim attempted to remove the suspect when an additional suspect approached the victim and motioned as if to have a handgun. One of the suspects then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
On Monday, February 22, 2021, 19 year-old Rufus Davis III, of Northeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Unarmed Carjacking.
This case remains under investigation.
- February 17, 2021: Suspects Sought in an Attempted Armed Robbery (Gun): 1400 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in reference to an Attempted Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Sunday, February 14, 2021, in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast.
At approximately 2:14 pm, the suspects entered an establishment at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and the suspects then fled the scene without obtaining any property.

- February 17, 2021: Arrests Made in a Robbery (Fear) Offense: 500 Block of 9th Street, Northeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce arrests have been made in reference to a Robbery (Fear) offensethat occurred on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in the 500 Block of 9th Street, Northeast.
At approximately 4:11 pm, the suspects approached the victim from behind at the listed location. The suspects stated that they had a gun and demanded property from the victim. The victim never saw the gun, but complied with the suspects demands and handed over the property. The suspects fled the scene but were later apprehended by MPD officers.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, 18 year-old Dawayne Smith, of Bryans Road, Maryland and 18 year-old Christian Carpenter, of Southeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Robbery (Fear).
- February 17, 2021: Vehicle of Interest Sought in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Armed Robbery (Gun) Offense: Unit Block of I Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle of interest in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun)and Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in the unit block of I Street, Southeast.
At approximately 7:43 pm, the suspects approached the victims, in a parking structure, at the listed location. The suspects brandished a handgun and taser and demanded the victims’ property. A struggle ensued and one of the suspects shot a victim. The suspects then fled the scene. The injured victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
The vehicle of interest is described as a 2008 Infiniti G35 with dark tinted windows, a sunroof, black rims, and a Virginia tag of UNF3804. The vehicle was captured by a nearby camera and can be seen in the photo above.

At approximately 2:23 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and demanded the victim’s property. The suspect then brandished a handgun and fled the scene without obtaining any property.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in reference to an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in the 1400 block of Duncan Street, Northeast.
At approximately 8:00 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force announce an arrest has been made in a Robbery (Force and Violence) and Theft One (Stolen Auto) offenses that occurred on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, in the 200 block of M Street, Southeast.
At approximately 8:37 pm, the suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim, and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle has since been recovered.
On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, pursuant to DC Superior Court custody orders, two 15 year-old juvenile males, both of Southeast, DC, and were arrested and charged with Robbery (Force and Violence).
