Step Afrika! returns to the Atlas for their annual holiday show

Is this the busiest week of the year? Maybe that’s just me? Event stacked upon event? Well, let’s get to it then!

Tonight is the opening night of Step Afrika!’s Magical, Musical Holiday Step Show. This event has quickly become a neighborhood holiday tradition. If you have never seen this company, which has taken the tradition and art of stepping to an international audience, then just stop right now and book your tickets because they always sell out.

Friday, go back to the Atlas Performing Arts Center because Councilmember Charles Allen (my boss) will be appearing in a one-night only walk-on role in Mosaic Theater’s production of Eureka Day. It is a comedy! About vaccines! Showtime is at 8 p.m. and the show will run through January 5th. Ward 6 residents can get discounted tickets using the code ….Ward6 at checkout.

Saturday and Sunday District Square at the Wharf hosts a Holiday Market. In addition to the festive atmosphere and live music there will be a number of DIY workshops on earring, terrariums, cocktails and more.

More yoga with yours truly at the Folger Saturday morning!

It’s not exactly fun, but EdFest has a fun enough name and it’s happening Saturday morning at the DC Armory. If you have school-age kids, you will at least get some swag and info. You can click here for more details.

Sunday put on your ugly holiday sweater and and head to Ugly Sweater Brunch at District Winery. There will be a photo booth and all the photos will be online for voting and the ugliest sweater will win a $50 gift card. What a way to end the year!
