Looking for slightly off-Hill plans for the weekend? Stop by the latest project from 2018 Restaurateur of the Year Ari Gejdenson, Via, at 2000 Fenwick St NE right on the corner of Fenwick and Okie in Ivy City.

Via is the ninth location for Gejdenson in the DC area, and also his second project aimed at casual dining, along with Ari’s Diner right across the street. Via will feature wood-fired pizzas and whole chickens, along with a variety of other street food specialties, as well as a full service bar.

The new restaurant is also the fourth project for Gejdenson in the Ivy City neighborhood of DC, just to the north of Capitol Hill, where we asked him what he likes about this area in particular: “It has the vibe and character of that original NE DC,” said Gejdenson. “I’ve been thinking about doing a pizza and chicken concept for awhile now, and NE DC is the perfect feel for it.”

Via will be open from 12-11pm today, Friday 8/23, 11am-11pm Sat 8/24 and 11am-8pm Sunday 8/25. Be one of the first to try it out this weekend and beat the rush!

After this weekend, Via will be open as follows: Wednesday and Thursday, 12-8; Friday, 12-11; Saturday, 11-11; Sunday 11-8. Via will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
