We periodically share updates from your ANC commissioners, edited for brevity and clarity. Although these are most pertinent to particular single member districts (SMDs), we feel the information shared can be of interest to the whole Capitol Hill community. Better late than never! APRIL 2019 CRIME REPORTS

You can find my excel file for April posted here

New feature: I’ve added a download of the individual reports for PSA 108.  With MPD’s PSA realignment on 1/1/19, all reportable crimes occurring in NE Capitol Hill ended up in 108, a PSA for which I have not been including report details. Prior to 1/1/19, most NE reports were included within PSA 107… but now this PSA only includes SE CH.

Overall, compared with March, the total number of crime reports rose in April for all 3 PSAs and within ANC6B.  Although, PSA 108 only saw a minimal increase. Below is a bit of a summary.

PSA 106:  76 total reports in April compared with 56 in March. Violent crimes rose by 2 with the worst being a homicide (knife) on 4/29 at Potomac Avenue Metro station. Otherwise, there were 16 more combined thefts & thefts from auto than in March.

PSA 107: reports rose to 44 from 27 in March with 5 vs 4 robberies. Three in each month involved guns. There were 17 more combined thefts & thefts from auto compared with March.

PSA 108:  32 reports in April compared with 29 in March. The same number of robberies each month (2); 1 each using a gun.  Four more combined thefts & thefts from auto compared with March.

ANC6B: within this area, there were a total of 99 reports vs 68 in March. The increase is primarily from 26 more combined thefts & thefts from auto and 5 more stolen autos compared with March. Violent crimes totaled 9, the same as in other 2019 months except February, when there were 6 (see the chart under the “2019 CH VCs” tab in the file).
