It’s countdown time! The NCB Capitol Hill Classic takes to the streets this Sunday and it’s time to make a plan!

Plan 1 — Register! Be a part of this 40 year tradition on Capitol Hill by lacing up and joining 4,500 other runners. There’s still plenty of time left to join in either the 10k, the 3k or the Fun Run. Your registration and financial support makes a huge difference to the students who attend the Capitol Hill Cluster School. 100% of race proceeds go to supporting programs at the school.

Make race prep easier by taking advantage of opportunities to pick up packets at Peabody Primary School and Pacers Running Navy Yard Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, plan to bike to the starting line at Lincoln Park where you’ll find a very handy bike valet.

Plan 2 – Cheers on the runners! Join the neighborhood and cheer on runners of all ages as they weave their way through the neighborhood. Batala Washington will be drumming runners on through mile 4 and they are a thing to behold. Make your sign and cheer on world class runners AND novice runners in their first race. That’s the joy of the Classic.

Plan 3 – Review the Race route so you can plan accordingly. BUT if you haven’t ever seen the Fun Run around Stanton Park strategize how to be there around 11 a.m. More than 500 kids sprinting around the park is indeed a site to see.

Make sure you follow the Classic on Twitter & Instagram – @caphillclassic.
