Well hello and I hope you are surviving pollen season. I highly recommend a daily regimen local honey and a lot of twisting poses. Or go the Flonase and Zyrtec route. Whatever it takes to survive.

A few major religious holidays happen this weekend so you may have much of your weekend planned already– but should you need some ideas, keep reading.

Tonight, be the nonna you want to be and learn to make homemade pasta in the Union Market Test Kitchen. Al Volo owner Daniele Catalan and chef Jennifer Jones will teach you to achieve comfort food nirvana. You will learn to make pasta, sauce and crostini while sipping wine. Stop reading: Weekend has been made. The class costs $65 and it begins at 7 p.m.

Friday, Truckeroo is back! The monthly food truck festival takes place in the Bullpen on Half Street SE. The family-friendly event runs from 4 to 11 p.m. so you can come feed the kids before things get too rowdy. There will be live music, drinks, games and a variety of trucks slinging all kinds of cuisine from pizza, to crab cakes, Korean tacos, tapas, French by way of Virginia and gourmet tater tots. Praise be.

That night is a Pay What You Can (PWYC) preview of Rorschach Theatre’s production of Annie Jump and the Library of Heaven. Reina Hardy’s play about a small town science whiz teenage girl who meets a popular girl who might actually be an intergalactic super computer. The show will run through May 19.

Saturday, head to Nationals Park for DC Beerfest. While the team is out of town, the stadium will be filled with brews from craft brewers as well as the big guys. Attendees can enjoy yet more food trucks, music and games, while enjoying unlimited beverage tastings. General Admission is $45 and VIP Admission is $75 for one of two sessions: noon to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. What does that extra $30 get you? VIP Admission allows attendees to access the warning track and dugouts, and receive commemorative tasting glasses and DC Beer Fest knit hats. You have to be over 21, friends. Get your tickets here.

Do you remember how I told you about the Anacostia River Festival last week? Well it was postponed due to weather and It is really happening THIS week so you missed nothing! There will be so much going on from raptors to races to rowing. Check it all out here. It looks like it will be a beautiful day!

Sunday, catch the closing film in the Smithsonian’s True Crime Festival Catch Me if You Can starring Leonardo DiCaprio at the heights of his post-Titanic charm. He plays a pathological liar and cheat who gets away with it… until he gets caught. The screening begins at 5 p.m.
