Porrón by ANXO Sneak Peek 6/30

Porrón by ANXO, a sister restaurant to Truxton Circle and Brightwood Park’s ANXO’s Cidery and Pintxos, will have a sneak preview/soft open tomorrow, June 30 and Saturday July 1. The two-day event is a ticketed affair, boasting unlimited porrones, ribeye steaks, sardines, pan con tomate and other Spanish dishes. The tickets are $65 per person, and the event is for people 21 and over. You can grab tickets via this link.

Porrón –named after a traditional Spanish wine pitcher– is opening up shop through summer and fall in the former space of Phase I. The façade and design were done by local creatives No Kings Collective, who also designed and executed the façade of Mason-Dixie’s bricks-and-mortar location in the Gateway area, off Bladensburg Road.

Phase I, for the newcomers, was an iconic lesbian bar where many a young Washingtonienne found herself (not to mention those who found a partner). The bar closed its doors in late 2015 and appeared to be sold by 2016.

Welcome to Barracks Row, Porrón! Salud!
