In addition to being Administrative Professionals day, today is National Pretzel Day! It’s hard to believe that five years ago we got the best pretzel present ever: We welcomed the Pretzel Bakery to Hill East. Sean Haney, a Philadelphia native, brought his love and pretzel know-how to the neighborhood so we could have the marvel we now know as a DC pretzel. Originally serving the salt-kissed pillows from gluten heaven out of a Dutch door on 15th street, the Pretzel Bakery is also celebrating one year at their new location, 257 15th Street SE.
So how do you celebrate pretzel day in style? Here are a few things to look out for:
– ALL PRETZELS ARE JUST $1 TODAY ? (maximum of 3 per pretzel-craving monster)
– Fox5 will be live on location at 10:23 a.m. Stop by and declare your love on TV!
– If you’re a congressional staffer, you’re in luck: there will be a reception at the Rayburn building with Eleanor Holmes Norton and Charles Allen. (Lucky….)
Today’s home run would definitely include buying a pretzel bouquet for the person who helps you administer your life. Happy birthday, guys!
