So everything was in fact canceled last weekend. I hope you were able to enjoy #snowzilla with friends and family and your couch. Many things have been pushed to this weekend so let’s see where we are at.

Tonight director Aaron Posner discusses Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream which is currently in previews at the Folger. Shakespeare’s comedy of mixed up lovers, warring fairies and well intentioned buffoons contains magic and features actress Holly Twyford as Bottom, the scenery-chomping lead buffoon. The director’s chat begins at 6:30 and the $20 ticket price includes a reception. The play opens Monday and runs through March 6th.

Friday musician Neil Rolnick brings his experimental, yet melodic and accessible sound to the Atlas. Critics have called his work “sophisticated,” “hummable and engaging.” The performance includes original, new works for solo instruments and computer, including Cello Ex Machina andDynamic RAM & Concert Grand. Featuring new music titan and keyboardist Kathleen Supové and Bang On a Can All-Stars cellist Ashley Bathgate. The concert begins at 8pm and tickets are $20 -$28. Get yours here.

Saturday Ice Yards returns to The Yards. (For real this time.) From 2pm to 6pm enjoy music, drinks, an apres ski lounge, boozy snow cones, fire pits, icy versions of shuffleboard and corn hole, indoor snowfall and outdoor fire pits, an ice craving wall, an ice sculpture gallery and a photo booth. Capitol Hill Art League hosts an opening reception at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop from 5pm to 7pm.

Christylez Bacon’s Washington Sound Museum welcomes Senegalese musician and songwriter Jean-Francis Varre to the Atlas. Bacon is a DC based Grammy nominee known for his upbeat unique sound. His sound museum series offers the language hip hop to interact with traditions from around the world. The concert begins at 8pm and tickets are $25. Learn more here.
