The Navy Yard/Capitol Riverfront neighborhood is bringing back its outdoor holiday Parcel Market at Canal Park again this weekend with interactive art installations, a cozy food pavilion warmed by fire pits, live & local music performances, and a festival tent showcasing a curated list of talented local designers, artists, chefs, and food artisans. And, of course, the 10,000 square-foot ice rink!
The Parcel Market will be held from noon-6pm on Saturday and Sunday, December 5th and 6th at Canal Park. The event is kid and dog friendly, free and open to the public, and will feature lots of food vendors, shopping stands, live music, and workshops. And this year, the neighborhood gets its own holiday tree! The Capitol Riverfront Bid is inviting residents to help decorate the tree on Saturday, December 5 from 9-11am. The tree, which is located at the southern block of Canal Park, will be lit at 6pm on Saturday night. Bring and ornament and a canned food item to donate to the Capital Area Food Bank. There will be coffee, hot chocolate and other breakfast treats as well.
