More than 200 volunteers came out over the last two weekends to help make today’s big day at DC General a reality. It started with the passion of the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project (HCPP), a group dedicated to nurturing healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in Washington D.C.

Through their work with kids at DC General, they realized that the teens and pre-teens needed a place to call their own. So, they made it happen. Well, with the help of donations (thank you, Frager’s and Lowe’s!), contractor DC by Gabe‘s generous time and vision, and with the time of more than 200 volunteers. Everyone has been hard at work and are excited to cut the ribbon on the new space tonight at 5:30.

Join us to celebrate this great work! The Ribbon Cutting will begin at 5:30 in front of DC General at the playground. Everyone will then proceed into the new Preteen & Teen Space to celebrate this amazing transformation! RSVP here.
