Up next in the Capitol Hill school auctions is School Within School.

Initially an early education program that was contained within the Capitol Hill Cluster School, SWS –now housed within the old Goding school at 9th and F Streets NE– has added PreK-3 and has been adding a grade since the 2012-2013 school year (they’re up to third grade, for those using your fingers at home). The school, which teaches in a Reggio-Emilia inspired way, believes all students are innately creative and curious, and that they “express their understanding in ‘100 Languages’;  drawing, constructing, painting, musically, light/shadow play,  through movement and access to a multitude of media…”

You can see how well the kids speak those 100 languages with some of the loveliest handmade auction items anywhere: from a beautiful “beaded” curtain made with upcycled plastic lids, to a Little Library, to a magical lamp, any of these items will bring the beauty of childhood into your home or office. The auction catalog can be accessed by clicking here, but come on! You want a party too!
