Capitol Hill – CSA/Farmer’s Market 2014 Fall/Winter “FARM TO FAMILY”

unnamed-1“Together We Are Growing Forward”

Farm to Family offers two fresh local farm food options to the Capitol Hill community this Fall.

We offer memberships in a flexible year round CSA Farm Share with a pickup Tuesday evenings at Eastern Market and Wednesdays at Patriot’s Plaza. A pick up location at The Yards will also be added soon!

Our 2014 Fall/Winter CSA program starts Oct. 14th and runs 24 weeks. You can sign up for a weekly or bi-weekly share. If you join after the start date, you are pro-rated in. We offer choices of produce (vegetables and fruit), grass-fed/pastured meats, grass-fed/pastured dairy (milk, butter, cheese, yogurt/kefir) eggs, breads and add-ons. Want to know what shares might look like? Visit our Facebook CSA Gallery. Visit us on the web, or at Eastern Market on Tuesdays, 5-7 pm, or Patriot’s Plaza, Wednesday, 11-7pm. Missed shares are donated to underserved families via our non-profit 501c3, BusFarm. unnamed-2We host a Farmer’s Market every Wednesday from 11-7 at Patriot’s Plaza, 355 E St SW near the Federal Center metro stop. We offer fresh food from the Washington DC food shed: fruits and vegetables, pantry items like honey, jams, salsa, sauces, maple syrup, nut butters, peanuts, fresh baked goods including gluten free/vegan, snacks, and grass-fed/pastured meats and dairy (milk, butter, cheese, yogurts) and eggs.

Farm to Family is based in Richmond, VA. Our mission is to grow, source, and distribute fresh, local products and encourage a healthy seasonal diet from our local food shed. That’s a win-win for everyone, (farmer, us, you and environment.) We also run a NPO 501c3, “BusFarm”, visiting schools with our FarmBus mobile market educating kids about local food and healthy eating habits.

We’ve been featured in media outlets such as Rachael Ray, People Magazine, BBC World News and more. Check out our website at: www.thefarmbus.com
