Drop Some Diapers; Save Some Cash

from the collection of the National Media Museum

It’s time for the  DC Diaper Bank’s Annual Capitol Hill Diaper Drive again, and local merchants are providing enticing incentives for you to stop by with a pack of Huggies. Or Luvs or Pampers or whichever expensive paper bum cover is your preference. Metro Mutts, ShawaFel and the Playseum, will express their gratitude for your donation with deals and savings for donors who support for this organization that provides diapers for the city’s families in need. Diapers cost more than $100 each month. Each box donated makes a tremendous difference to families living on a tight budget.

The drive runs through Saturday, so be sure to stop by one of these businesses ASAP. At ShawaFel you’ll receive 10% off your meal. Metro Mutts will discount all purchases (excluding Frontline and food) by 15%. At the Playseum, you’ll receive a bubble bath-making activity including a bottle of bubble bath to take home ($3 value).

As a parent, you spend a lot of time worrying about the damned things. Do you have some in the car? Is it time to stop the Amazon subscription?  Is it time to change the diaper AGAIN? All of that means, you often have a number of unfinished packs lying around because the rug rats grow so quickly. You need to drop off a whole package to claim the discounts, but open packs are welcomed, labeled with size and quantity. Diaper Bank is always in need of larger sizes (4 and up) and Pull Ups.
