Happy August, everyone! You have officially survived the hottest summer on record in DC. Not sure what we win for that…a nice mild August? One can only hope. At least it’s the month were we get a break from traffic as half of the city leaves on vacation. And for your procrastination pleasure, here are some links you may have missed in the last week.
- DCist reported on the fender bender that Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton was in this weekend.
- JDLand reported that the Capitol Riverfront BID has requested that WMATA rename the Navy Yard metro Station to “Capitol Riverfront/
“. Her readers aren’t so in love with the idea and are skeptical that the name “Capitol Riverfront” will actually stick in the long term. - According to the City Paper, the owners of Schneider’s are among the applicants for a city license to grow medical marijuana in DC.
- Frozen Tropics shared an article about a long-ago proposed Metro station on Oklahoma Avenue Station, south of 25th Place and E street.
- After enjoying dinner at Senart’s so much, I decided to return for brunch. You can read my review at Brunch and the City.

Thanks for the shout-out, though here’s the actual link: http://bit.ly/r6clU8 🙂
