It doesn’t really matter what the weather, I always love a good margarita. I know everyone has their opinion about the best on the Hill, so let’s hear it. What restaurant do you think serves the best in the neighborhood?

La Lomita, after re-opening, seems to have started making them significantly stronger. I love to taste the tequila, so they get my vote. Would have been H Street Country Club otherwise.
I agree with alex. I also have to admit, I usually go with the Cadillac Margarita. Most places’ basic margarita bothers my stomach. I haven’t figured out if it’s the mix or the liquor choice, but I haven’t had that issue when I get the higher end ones.
A venue must be judged by its ability to make a frozen margarita, which should ALWAYS come from a machine. H St. CC and Tortilla Coast are the only two on the list worth anything in that category. For the others, almost without exception, their mixes taste like dish soap, an effect seemingly amplified when ordered frozen.
To further your search for margarita wisdom, the original frozen margarita machine is in the Smithsonian collection: http://americanhistory.si.edu/collections/object.cfm?key=35&gkey=100&objkey=5969
I would beg to differ. Just had a half pitcher of La Lomita’s margaritas last night out on the patio and had them the only way I think margaritas should ever be had: on the rocks with salt. They were delish!
Definitely agree with Kate: frozen is a no-no. Nothing better than a made-from-scratch margarita, on the rocks, with salt!
