Good Morning! I hear it was a beautiful weekend. Oh. That’s nice. I spent most of mine inside the theatre so I wasn’t able to enjoy the springlike temps and the return of the birds from their winter vacation homes. I hope you were able to take advantage!
Please humor me and allow me to live vicariously through your exciting lives. What sort of fun things did you do this weekend?
Kyra: On Sunday I cut down a large rose bush in my front yard that had but one redeeming quality: attacking drunk Virginians heading home after a night out on H street. RIP rose bush. You will be missed by no one but me.
Liz: Happy to stay in town this weekend, on Saturday did Toyland, Ethipopic, birthday party at Sova, Eastern Market and environs Sunday. Everyone was out in the good weather– it took me an hour to walk a couple blocks.
Maria: Started the weekend off with a pizza party for the older child at a classmate’s house. On Saturday, took a long and winding drive through DC and upon returning to Capitol Hill realized that, lovely though other neighborhoods really are, ours is the best. In the evening, went to the Atlas Performing Arts Center (hi Jen!) to gaze lovingly upon my photograph, which is part of the Ten Miles Square INTERSECTIONS exhibit (yay!), and caught an amazing performance by percussionist Tom Teasley; afterwards, had the best Martini ever at Church and State to celebrate. On Sunday, got a huge open house fix around the Hill; had a delicious dinner at the Argonaut; and came back to the Atlas to catch Tom Teasley again with the little ones, because he is that good!
Claudia: Saturday morning I went to the public library for the first time since middle school (I know, sad) with my nephew for some fun one-on-one time, followed by bagels at Marvelous Market. Sunday I enjoyed the gorgeous weather by going for a run around the neighborhood (I am not a runner so this was big for me…and I agreed to sign up for my first race), and then ended my evening with a fabulous sandwich from 7th Hill and a Nutella calzone for dessert while watching the Oscars and doing all the work I put off while enjoying the great weather.
Jen: Intersections. Intersections. Intersections. We had a great H Street moment on Friday night when we couldn’t tap our brand new keg. I ran next door to the H Street Country Club and grabbed owner/manager Blair to see if he could diagnose the problem. See that we lack proper equipment he brought in the expert keg Doctor Brook from Granville’s and together they solved our problem just in time for opening night.

Tom Teasley really was super awesome. I agree he was worthy of a repeat visit. Very impressed with the Intersections programming at the Atlas. I think that we have a jewel happening before our very eyes and ears.
