As much as I love the holidays, I’m not sure my body can handle much more sugar, liquor and late nights. What’s that? I can be an adult and turn in early or turn down the sugary treats?! Nonsense! Life is short and Christmas only comes once a year. And you can always nap under your desk at the office (I’m hoping my boss doesn’t actually read this blog…). Now I will go back to my Oreo Truffles — an excellent breakfast — while you can catch up on your morning reading. Happy holidays!

- Dear Washington Post, thank you. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The steak & cheese at Trusty’s is merely adequate while the one nextdoor at Lucky Carryout really hits the spot. I prefer mine “dressed” (L/T/M) but they’re more than happy to serve it al fresco with just steak and cheese. And their wings & mambo sauce are just right: fried hard and crispy. The rest of the menu is pretty standard, but those sandwiches and wings really shine and not just with greasiness.
