High School Fair

Maybe its the fact that most of my friends have small children, but I feel like there’s lots of talk about elementary schools: where to go, city vs. charter vs. private, favorite teachers and principles, how to survive lotteries, etc.  I don’t even have kids, but I feel pretty confident that if I did I’d know exactly what to do those first 10 years or so.  Educationally, at least.

This Saturday, there’s an opportunity to start filling in the information gap with DC Public School’s High School Fair.  From noon to 3:30pm, stop by Eastern High at 1700 East Capital, NE to learn about different high school options and when and how to enroll.  There will be principles, teachers and students on hand to answer questions, along with information about various school programs and college prep.  Plus you can get a peek at the new Eastern High, which sounds amazing based on Elizabeth’s tour back in August.

Ha! Thanks, mch. I’ve been writing a lot about the “principles” for a new business venture lately. I completely missed my “pal”.

  2. DCPS mom says:

mch, yes. Sadly, there are actual DCPS principals (Marie Reed ES) who have been confused by this. (Awesome talent pool Michelle!)

Boys and girls, all together now, “The PrinciPAL is your PAL.”

I think it’s fair I have strong opinions on educational principles and principals ;).

    Ugh – correction – I think it’s fair to say I have strong opinions…..
