DC Blogger Skeeball Tournament: Fort Totten Team Takes Home The Trophy

Six teams comprised of neighborhood blogs from around the city descended on H Street Country Club last night for a grueling match of skills at the skeeball tables last night.  In the end, the “Totten Skeers” topped “Columbia Heights Has Balls” to take home the trophy.

Thank you to everyone for coming!  And Now Anacostia, New Columbia Heights, The Heights Life, The Totten Life, We Love DC, Greater Greater Washington, The District Curmudgeon, Penn Quarter Living, The Triangle and Congress Heights on the Rise came together to form the six teams of bloggers and readers.

We’d also like to thank H Street Country Club for hosting the event, and United Social Sports for helping us organize and run the tournament, as well as donating shirts for the top rollers of the night.  And thank you to DC Tees for giving us a group rate on a fantastic Capitol Hill t-shirt for The Hill is Home team!  They sell a great line of DC-themed shirts at the Eastern Market Flea Market on Sundays.  And one last thank you to Julia Christian for designing the great flyer we used in our earlier posts about the tournament!

Thanks for a great time last night!

  3. Robert says:

You guys where a fun crowd… some of you are definitely league material, haha! 400+ scores, yikes!

  4. Margaret says:

If anyone doubts for a minute that THIH is cutting-edge: they planned this great tournament with Robert and the H Street Country Club long ago.
And the day after, the Washington Post devoted their cover story of the weekend section to “social sports,” including Skeeball and a mention of Robert Albrecht’s work organizing leagues on H Street and around town.
Listen to them! They know what’s happening! This was such a fun event!
