My apologies for a lack of posting last week. The vacation rental I was staying at didn’t have the promised internet connection. After initially stressing I decided it was a subtle sign that I needed to unplug for a couple of days. I highly recommend it some time! And now, it’s time for a double dose of buzz from around the internet.
- The guys who are opening the Capital City Diner reported on their blog that they were mugged and received a disappointing response from police. City Paper covered the story as well as did Prince of Petworth, just to name a few.
- Taylor Gourmet was featured in the Washington Post and Dwell (great pictures on the Post’s site and on Inspiration DC), and reviewed by The City Paper’s Young & Hungry blog. If you haven’t tried one of their sandwiches, get over there already!
- JDLand reported that the Potomac Riverboat Company will start proving water taxi service from Diamond Teague Park on September 8.
- Frozen Tropics let us know about a website that is now live for an Ethiopian restaurant that will soon be coming to the H Street corridor.
- News in the Washington Business Journal of Walmart looking at Poplar Point as a location for a future store drew a bunch of reactions, such as those in We Love DC, DCist, and the City Paper.
- The Washington Examiner highlighted a 10-year dispute between two Capitol Hill neighbors over 8.4-inch gap between their properties. Come on folks, can’t we all just get along?
- After letting us know that Pap and Petey’s is officially closed for business, Frozen Tropics gives us some insight into what may be next for the space on H Street.
